Event Coordinator

Job Description Summary Event Coordinator –Full‐time position at the William & Mary Washington Center in Mt.Vernon Triangle, Washington, D.C. The Center serves students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends by providing academic, internship, scholarship, career, networking, philanthropic, event planning, teaching and research opportunities. The Event Coordinator will report to the Senior Event Coordinator, with strategic oversight from the Finance and Operations Manager, and will be the key figure in delivering seamless event support and space reservations for the Center’s academic, student, and community activities. Responsibilities Lead and manage recurring events, including evening class meetings, student‑led activities, and internal staff meetings. Serve as the main point of contact for external or partner groups, managing room bookings, access protocols, and orientations. Ensure physical readiness of event spaces, including furniture configuration, supply stocking, and signage. Assist the Senior Coordinator with shared master calendar, RSVP tracking, and logistics for signature events. Provide immediate, on‑site troubleshooting for hybrid meeting technology (Zoom/Teams) and classroom AV equipment. Required Qualifications Experience in event logistics, hospitality, or facility coordination. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work frequent evenings. Ability to work some weekends. Ability to work independently on professional projects without supervision. Ability to work collaboratively under multiple supervisors. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Experience working in higher education. Conditions of Employment Non‑exempt position; eligible for overtime during high‑peak periods. Requires a valid driver’s license for travel to Williamsburg, VA for main campus events (vehicle will be provided if needed). Requires frequent evenings and weekends work. Posting Range $42,000 – $50,000, commensurate with experience.
