Speech & Language Pathologist

Job Description The Amherst Regional Public School District is seeking a full-time speech‑language pathologist to work with secondary students. Job Responsibilities Provide direct services addressing receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, articulation, aural rehabilitation, oral motor intervention, auditory processing, and social communication to individuals and small groups. Conduct therapy, treatment planning and implementation, and consultation. Conduct comprehensive assessments and reports, participate in IEP Team meetings, write IEPs and progress reports, and complete applicable Medicaid billing documentation. Provide speech and language services in the general education setting, service provider’s office and/or in collaboration with other service providers. Provide services through a collaborative, transdisciplinary model across the curriculum. Function as a member of the diagnostic team by providing comprehensive differential diagnosis, assessment, and educational planning for students with speech, language, and communication disorders. Highly Qualified Candidates Experience with assistive technologies and augmentative communication. Experience with mild/moderate to severe special needs and atypical learning profiles. Experience with a diverse population of students within a multicultural school/community. Strong ability to work as a member of a professional learning community and multi‑disciplinary team. Strong ability to multitask and work within a fast‑paced environment focused on student learning and measurable outcomes. Commitment to inclusion that benefits students academically and socially/emotionally. Experience administering and interpreting formal and informal assessments, with strong interpretation and report‑writing skills. Highly effective executive function skills: organization, time management, and ability to meet timelines independently. Highly effective oral and written communication skills promoting collaboration with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Strong ability to support and collaborate with paraprofessional staff. Maintain currency in the field and emphasize the role and use of data in treatment and program planning. Experience interpreting/performing culturally and linguistically informed/bilingual‑informed assessments to determine language difference versus disability. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferable but not required. Experience in a public school setting is highly preferable but not required. Required Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Education) Speech & Language Pathologist licences by applicable oversight boards (Board of Health). Current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification/license as a Speech Language Pathologist, all levels.
