Hospital Correctional Security Officer - Safety

Responsibilities Ensures safety, order, and control of inmates housed in the community hospitals and all other duties assigned by the Division of Security Management. Inspects posts to ensure proper performance of duties. Is up to date on security status of inmates assigned to the hospital. Ensures control of security keys/equipment at the community hospital. Prepares, submits, and reviews operational and administrative reports. Responds to complaints and concerns from hospital staff. Minimum and Additional Requirements U.S. Citizen. 18 and over. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Must pass a physical exam administered by SCDC. Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy within six (6) months of entry into this position. Must have one (1) year of experience working in a medium/maximum correctional setting. Preferred Qualifications Prefer 18 months’ work experience in correctional, security, or police work, one (1) year of which is in a medium/maximum correctional setting.
