Workers Compensation Specialist

Workers Comp SpecialistMV Transportation is seeking a Workers Comp Specialist to coordinate and administer the internal functions related to responding to work comp claims and coordinating with third party claims administrator on work comp claims to evaluate compensability, avoid litigation and resolve claims. Providing support to operations to assist with investigation and any discovery requests and respond to operations questions related to work comp claims and litigation.Work Comp Claims Reporting EvaluationCoordinate with operations as appropriate for WC reporting and injury investigationReview Critical Injury Reports for escalation as neededData entry of custom data as neededCoordinate with Safety on data collection, prevention, supportSecures and analyzes necessary information and documentation in the investigation of claimsClaim Coordination and Operations SupportReview TPA files for proper set-up, coding and diaryConference calls with claim adjusters for ongoing strategiesReserve/settlement authority within defined levelRecommend litigation avoidance strategiesMonthly reporting of claim activityCorresponding with Operations on claim questionsCoordination of investigation details from ops as neededSpecial projects, as neededWork Comp Litigation SupportParticipate in litigation strategy conference callsReview defense attorney reports, as neededLocating and coordinating (both locally and corporate wide) for person with most knowledge to assist with discovery, depositions and hearingsManage the litigation process and facilitate settlements with help of the WC managerOther duties as assignedTalent RequirementsHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Bachelor's Degree, ARM – preferred but not requiredThree (3) to five (5) years experience with claims and or previous management
