Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available. Every other weekend required. Float responsibilities as needed. Candidates must be available to work holidays and flexible with scheduling (weekend blocks of Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon accepted). Contract extensions available through February 27, 2026.

Highlights:

• Medical/Surgical unit caring for diverse patient populations including dementia, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fractures, CHF, UTI, surgical recovery cases, renal failure, and other typical M/S diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 with 43-bed unit and daily census of approximately 39 patients
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive first-week hospital orientation program
• Isolation area for COVID patients; multi-level care facility with stepdown unit (cared for by dedicated stepdown staff)
• Up to 7 days of requested time off available (holidays excluded); must work 2 of 3 major holidays during contract

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
• MS/Tele or Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to contract start date
• Experience with patient ratios of 5-6 patients
• Proficiency in Epic charting system preferred
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Current Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignment
