Washington University seeks an advancement professional to join University Advancement in the position of Senior Stewardship Officer, Arts & Sciences.
University Advancement strives to advance the institution's mission by creating a culture of philanthropy among alumni, students, faculty, and friends. With the 2025 public launch of the With You Campaign, WashU is ambitiously pursuing solutions to the world's greatest challenges-to make a more promising future for all. Arts & Sciences is poised to advance the campaign's promise with new discoveries fueled by interdisciplinary studies, impactful collaborations, and the next generation of leaders.
The Senior Stewardship Officer will report to the Executive Director for Advancement, Arts & Sciences and will serve as a subject matter expert on stewardship activities for the school. They will join the team's Stewardship Officer to play a critical role in ensuring long-term donor satisfaction and maximizing the impact of donor support. The incumbent will work with leadership to acknowledge donors and produce both standard and highly-curated impact reports. The Senior Stewardship Officer will collaborate with Donor Relations and the Arts & Sciences Stewardship Officer to ensure Arts & Sciences donors receive comprehensive scholarship and professorship reporting. The Senior Stewardship Officer will take a lead role in fund administration management.
This role requires strong relationship, analytical, and communication skills and a deep understanding of donor engagement. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful collaborations with colleagues across departments, divisions, or Schools. $65,900.00 - $112,700.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. - Manage Professorship installations and other donor recognition events, in coordination with Special Events
- Act as the relationship manager for Arts & Sciences prospects in permanent stewardship
- Occasionally, serve on a relationship management team for Arts & Sciences prospects who require specific stewardship plans and are not managed by a Donor Relations Officer
- Manage the stewardship reporting on the Dean's top funding priorities
- Research giving history and collect impact data from beneficiaries
- Draft content and produce final reports
- Supporting Donor Relations Officers and/or school colleagues to produce impact reports by providing content and review
- Survey and match students to named scholarships
- Prepare student snapshots and scholarship profiles
- Respond to inquiries on scholarships from colleagues, donors, students, and parents
- Coordination between Donor Relations and the School's Finance Office
- Review accounts, both endowed and spendable, to identify funds that should be addressed with the Executive Director
- Upkeep records for awarded scholarships and professorships in the CRM
- Track unspent fund accounts and work with Executive Director and Strategy Officers to develop plans to notify key stakeholders and to remedy the situation
- Support the development of budgets for unit activity
- Support the creation and implement annual operational plans (events calendar, communication calendar, OKRs, etc.)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments to gather information and project updates for donor communication and stewardship purposes.
