Environmental Project Manager

Job Overview APTIM is seeking an enthusiastic Environmental Project Manager to join a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians committed to solving environmental concerns. The candidate will manage projects across Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Kentucky, and Alabama, overseeing scope development, planning, execution, and invoicing while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. This role requires hands‑on project management, client interaction, and mentoring of junior staff. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities Managing client projects from proposal through execution and invoicing. Managing budgets of $500,000 and up. Cooperating with client staff, vendors, and contractors. Developing and executing work scopes while maintaining schedules and budgetary goals. Adjusting work priorities to accommodate changing site conditions and schedules. Monitoring and managing project budgets and timelines. Managing long‑term project schedules, balancing multiple priorities. Interpreting and evaluating scientific data. Providing technical support for all project phases including conceptual design, due diligence, site characterization, monitoring, dewatering permitting, remediation design, regulatory reporting, procurement, and construction. Mentoring junior staff. Adhering to health and safety policies. Preparing or reviewing technical documents for regulatory agencies and private clients. Working remotely with 10‑20% travel. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related science field. 10‑20 years of experience in environmental project execution or management and personnel leadership. Strong organizational skills to manage 30 or more projects over extended periods. Excellent written and oral communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint). Experience with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and due diligence services. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and time management. Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle. Completion of 40‑hour OSHA‑HAZWOPER training and annual refreshers. Certifications such as Professional Geologist/Engineer, Licensed Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Project Monitor, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, or Indoor Air Quality Training are a plus. Experience in indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, or environmental compliance services is a plus. Must reside in Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, or Georgia. Desired / Preferred Qualifications Experience managing projects for both government and private clients. Experience working in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, or Kentucky geologic environments. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $115,000–$132,000 annually, based on experience, education, and location.
