Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/IMCU position requiring 2 years of medical step-down experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Medical step-down unit (7L IMCU) with 6-20 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, TDM2, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy
• Possible float to other IMCU units, most commonly 5J and 12A
• 12-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of medical step-down/progressive care experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospital settings required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Work in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved for this unit
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
