FSP Principal Contract Specialist
Thermo Fisher Scientific
Principal Site Contract Specialist position leading contract preparation, negotiation, and finalization with clinical trial sites. Role includes managing complex contracts, mentoring junior staff, and serving as subject matter expert for contract processes and training.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize site agreements per established local processes
- Identify and escalate legal, financial, and operational risks appropriately
- Coordinate with internal departments to align site startup and contract activities with timelines
- Train and mentor junior contract specialists and manage training plans for teams
- Serve as country subject matter expert for contracts training materials and global compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal academic or vocational qualification
- 8+ years relevant experience in contract negotiation and management
- Mastery-level understanding of contract law principles and related business laws
- Fluent English and local language communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to independently train and mentor staff
- Advanced problem-solving and risk assessment capabilities
- Proven investigator grant budget negotiation experience within parameters
