You will be the connective tissue that keeps vertically integrated avionics development aligned, on schedule, and delivering against program and customer requirements. You will own requirements decomposition and flow-down across avionics subsystems, drive ICD development, lead technical and programmatic trade studies, and represent Avionics Components team interests in wider engineering forums. You bring strong electrical engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and the organizational discipline to keep complex, multi-disciplinehardware programs moving with clarity and confidence. This is a high-visibility role that directly shapes how the Avionics team executes and grows.RESPONSIBILITIESOwn requirements decomposition and flow-down across the Avionics Components engineering team, ensuring traceability from customer and program-level requirements to subsystem andcomponentspecificationsDevelop,maintain, and negotiate interface control documents (ICDs) between avionics subsystems and broader spacecraft systems, including power, software, RF, and payloadsServe as the primary interface between the Avionics Components team and the Program Office, translating technical status, risks, and needs into clear programmatic communicationInterpret andadjudicatecustomer specifications,identifyingareas of risk, ambiguity, or non-compliance and driving resolution with engineering and program stakeholdersLead technical and programmatic trade studies across avionics subsystems, synthesizing inputs from EPS, digital systems, FPGA, RF, and harness teams to produce clear recommendationsFacilitate sprint planning, milestone tracking, and schedule development in coordination with the Program Office, keeping the Avionics Components team on track and dependencies visibleAssist the Avionics Components team leadership in roadmap planning, ensuring near-term deliverables and long-term development priorities are clearly defined and resourcedRepresent Avionics Components team interests in cross-functional engineering meetings, design reviews, and customer engagementsIdentifyand track technical and programmatic risks, driving mitigation plans in collaboration with the engineering team and Program OfficeDevelop andmaintainAvionics program documentation including technical plans, schedules, review packages, and status reportsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (Master'spreferred)5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, avionics engineering, or a related technical program roleDemonstrated experience with requirements decomposition, flow-down, and traceability management for electrical or avionics systemsExperience developing and managing interface control documents across complex, multi-disciplinehardware programsStrong electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to engage credibly with engineers across digital systems, FPGA, EPS, RF, and harness disciplinesExperience supporting or leading programmatic activities including schedule development, milestone tracking, and sprint or agile planningExceptional written and verbal communication skills, withdemonstratedability to convey technical information clearly to both engineering and program management audiencesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEExperience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or similarFamiliarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or ConfluenceExperience working directly with government or defense customers and interpreting military or defense acquisition specificationsFamiliarity with spacecraft avionics architectures including flight computers, EPS, RF communications, and harness designFamiliarity with agile development methodologies applied to hardware engineering programsExperience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic settingCOMPENSATIONBase Salaries:Electrical Engineer III: $115,000-$170,000Senior Electrical Engineer: $150,000-$220,000Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental LeaveYour actual level and base salary will bedetermined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility tomaintainor obtainTS//SCI clearanceWork Location—this role will be onsite at either our Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA locations, with travel to other sites as needed.Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.This position will be open until it is successfully filled.
