You will support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving problems.• Establish specifications for contract assemblers and raw-material vendors. • Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance. To be effective in this role, you will need:• Experience with wire harness and interconnects design for avionics or high reliability applications.• 3+ years professional experience.• While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required. Let’s do Space!The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.Experience in electro-mechanical engineering including wire harness/cable design.Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing).Experience using Zuken (wiring harness layout) to create and manage production ready electrical designs.Willing and able to obtain and maintain to obtain a Secret clearance, thus a US Citizen.Desired SkillsFull working knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).• Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).• Experience with 3D printing/prototyping.• Missile/Aerospace related experience.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).• Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership.• Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers.• Experience performing tolerance stack-ups.• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines.• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).• Hands-on hardware experience.• Active security clearance.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
