Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse in Wausau for 13 weeks, starting September 21, 2026, with the possibility of extension. This role involves delivering inpatient rehabilitation care to adult patients on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including every other weekend and holiday rotations. The position requires resilience, adaptability, and solid rehabilitation knowledge to support patients recovering from stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac issues. Job Details Required Certifications: WI RN license, AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Education Requirements: Associate Degree or Certificate; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Location Requirements: Candidates outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Years of Experience: 1 year in a hospital inpatient setting (Medical Surgical Rehabilitation or related background). Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts between 6am-6:30pm and 6pm-6:30am, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Additional Information: Experience with Epic charting is preferred. Inpatient rehab unit with 12 beds, patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 during day shifts and 1:8 during nights. Responsibilities include offering quality inpatient rehabilitation care, managing stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac cases, and working with a resilient, social, and adaptable team. Scrub colors are flexible. Candidates must be able to work a schedule that includes an every-other-weekend rotation and holiday coverage.
