About:

We have a client who is implementing a large Unified Communication project that involves connecting PSTN to Teams and migrating all the current PBX infrastructure ultimately to Microsoft Teams. There are some SBCs involved in managing traffic among the different entities (PBX, PSTN, Teams) and many old PRI/POTS lines that will have to be decommissioned.

This is a long-term project migrating the telephony infrastructure first in the US locations and then across global locations.

We are looking for a consultant experienced in telephony/telecom to work as the project owner. This consultant will interface with the business users and management at each location, devise a plan, work with the technical team and third-party service providers in completing the implementation.

Experience, Skills, and Responsibilities

Minimum of 10 years' experience administering phone systems in a corporate environment.

A bachelor's degree in technology

Prior experience with all of the following: Cisco Unified Call Manager Suite, Oracle Acme SBC, Microsoft Teams Telephony.

Good understanding of telephony design and call routing / control protocols such as SIP, RTP, G.711, T.38, T1 / PRI, FXO / FXS, CAS POTS, and Caller ID.

Understanding of voice technologies: TDM, QoS, Client, Codecs, Voice Recording, Attendant Console, and general IPT.

Working knowledge of network communications including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing and switching, firewalls, LAN, VLAN, WAN. An expert level knowledge of QoS management and the prioritization of UDP/SIP traffic.

Good understanding of Session Border Controllers and SIP Trunking configurations and best practice and experience with setting up and solving issues with Session Border Controllers (SBC) and voice gateways.; Unified Communications As-a-Service (UCaaS).

Knowledge of a telecom and backbone network infrastructure (i.e., local & long-distance calling, Telco products, QoS, Dial plan and Routing, etc.).

Troubleshooting experience porting large DID blocs between different carriers.

Ability to take ownership and manage a technical project in a corporate environment.

TT```Duties:```- Provide implementation and technical support to clients during the onboarding process- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and develop customized solutions- Configure and deploy software applications and systems- Conduct training sessions for end-users on software functionality and best practices- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to software implementation- Document client interactions, issues, and resolutions in a timely manner

```Requirements:```- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)- Proven experience in desktop support, technical support, or network administration- Familiarity with VPN setup and troubleshooting- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical users- Knowledge of Active Directory, operating systems (Windows), and Microsoft Office Suite- Experience with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) is a plus
