Manufacturing Associate (2nd Shift)

As a Manufacturing Associate on the 2nd shift, you support the production of precision rubber seals by performing hands-on tasks such as trimming, inspecting, painting grooves with adhesive, and operating molding equipment. You work with small parts in a clean, safe, and structured manufacturing environment while following established procedures to ensure high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Trim excess rubber from parts with precision to meet quality and dimensional standards.
• Inspect parts carefully for defects and ensure only conforming parts move forward in the process.
• Apply glue into grooves on parts using small brushes, maintaining consistent coverage and accuracy.
• Perform molding operations as directed, including loading and unloading parts and monitoring molding cycles.
• Handle and assemble small parts while maintaining focus on detail and product integrity.
• Use hand tools safely and effectively to support production and finishing tasks.
• Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain product quality and a clean work area.
• Stand or sit for extended periods while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet production goals.
• Document work as required and report any issues, defects, or equipment concerns promptly.
• Support general production and labor tasks as needed across molding, bonding, and related areas.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail when trimming, inspecting, and handling small parts.
• Ability to work with small parts comfortably and accurately.
• Proficiency in using basic hand tools in a production environment.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and follow instructions.
• Capability to stand or sit for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks.
• Commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to meet production and quality expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor, general production, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience working in molding, machine shop, bonding, or warehouse areas.
• Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with clear SOPs.
• Ability to adapt to different work cells and support new production lines as they are added.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, open manufacturing facility that produces rubber seals, including products used in aerospace applications. The site includes a machine shop, molding area, bonding area with machine presses, and warehouse operations. You work on the 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., alongside a team of approximately 40 people, with additional staffing on other shifts. The environment is very safe and clean, with a strong emphasis on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will work around production machinery and equipment, handle small parts, and spend extended periods standing or sitting at workstations. The facility supports multiple production cells, and new cells are being added to meet demand, creating a dynamic yet well-structured work setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
