Summary

As an Equal Employment Specialist (Reasonable Accommodation Program Manager) at the GS-0260-14, you will be part of the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Duties

Help

• Coordinates and facilitates reasonable accommodation requests for applicants, including intake, the interactive process, evaluation of supporting documentation, implementation of approved accommodations, and monitoring of accommodation effectiveness.
• Responsible for making independent determinations and developing significant recommendations related to the provisions of reasonable accommodations at Headquarters and in Field Offices.
• Prepares reports, briefing materials, program analyses, and tracks program metrics and trends; supports reporting, budget, and procurement activities; and identifies opportunities to improve customer service and program effectiveness.
• Develops and delivers training, technical assistance, and consultative services to supervisors, employees, and stakeholders on reasonable accommodation, disability employment, accessibility requirements, and related civil rights responsibilities.
• Conducts research, evaluates competing considerations, develops recommendations, and provides expert advice to OCR leadership regarding appropriate courses of action that enable employees to perform the functions of their appointed position.
• Analyzes and solves particularly complex and sensitive problems and issues, such as those involving conflicting laws or other requirements, and those involving vague policy decisions and case strategy guidance which have impact throughout the EEOC.

Qualifications

For the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience includes experience leading, planning, and administering a disability program; and providing analysis, interpretation, and documentation of technical issues in various reasonable accommodation cases; demonstrated experience serving as a deciding official for reasonable accommodation requests.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 14 level.

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with the EEOC. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow the EEOC to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
