About the Position

Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Only candidates with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience will be considered if they are first-time travelers. Description: The RN will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. They will deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication are essential. The RN will lead efforts to create a safe patient environment and ensure the best patient experience across the continuum. The unit will accommodate multiple types of patients with various common diagnoses. It operates in a fast-paced environment and handles a range of cases, including trauma and critical care situations. Patient ratios are based on clinical areas worked or acuity levels. The RN will have support from ED Techs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and 24/7 critical care pharmacists among others. Technology and equipment include electronic medical records, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitoring equipment. Floating to other units may occur based on operational needs.
