Postdoctoral Scholar in the UCLA Tanigawa Lab Requisition Number: JPF11031 Are you passionate about using your skills in biomedical data science, statistical modeling, or human genetics to make a real-world impact on human health? The Tanigawa Lab at UCLA is seeking a highly motivated, exceptionally creative researcher to join our new lab. Our group investigates disease heterogeneity: why individuals differ in disease onset, progression, and treatment response. We develop statistical models and computational tools to uncover the mechanistic basis of inter-individual variation in the disease. Our long-term goal is to provide more tailored prevention and treatment strategies for everyone. Responsibilities Work closely with Prof. Tanigawa on a mutually agreed-upon interdisciplinary project focused on representation learning for computational dissection of disease heterogeneity. Develop and apply statistical models and computational tools to analyze biomedical data. Collaborate with the research team to design experiments and interpret results. Present findings in lab meetings and conferences. Assist in manuscript preparation and grant writing. Qualifications Ph.D. in Biomedical Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning. Experience with biomedical data types (genomics, transcriptomics, imaging). Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science (Python, R). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
