Technical Lead / Senior Developer (Marketplace Platform) About VendHub VendHub is a fast-growing software platform and marketplace designed for vending business operators. We offer tools and services that help our customers build, grow, and operate profitable vending operations —including access to exclusive wholesale pricing, direct integrations with suppliers, tax exemption workflows, EDI ordering pipelines, and route planning tools. We’re transitioning from agency-led development to an in-house engineering team—and we’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to anchor that shift. About the Role We’re hiring a Technical Lead who will initially act as a senior individual contributor and then grow into a leadership role. You’ll own the codebase and architecture across our core platform, define standards, and help us scale reliably and quickly. You’ll work closely with the founder, PMs, and designers to break features into milestones and deliver consistent, maintainable results. The ideal candidate is backend-leaning, system-minded, and fluent with AI development tools like Cursor, Claude, or OpenAI Codex—but also comfortable jumping into the front-end when needed. You’re someone who can ship fast, think clearly, and help shape the development culture from day one. Key Responsibilities Own and evolve the core codebase and system architecture (Next.js + Supabase). Write clean, modular TypeScript code and design scalable database schemas. Lead backend architecture and integrations (e.g., EDI, Avalara, Stripe, Clerk). Break down projects into deliverable milestones with realistic timelines. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and operations. Define and improve our CI/CD, testing, and QA processes. Grow into a leadership role—mentoring future hires and scaling the dev team. What We’re Looking For 6–8+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in a startup or lean product team environment. Proven experience owning and delivering complex applications in production —you’ve shipped, scaled, and maintained real software that users rely on. You’ve led technical efforts , defined architectural plans, and made tradeoffs across speed, scalability, and maintainability. Strong backend architecture skills , with full-stack capability to jump into front-end when needed. Expertise with: Next.js (App Router) TypeScript + React Supabase / PostgreSQL Stripe (subscription flows, invoicing, webhooks) Clerk or equivalent auth providers Comfortable working independently in the early phase, but excited to grow and lead a team . Experience collaborating with product and design to break projects into realistic milestones and align delivery with roadmap goals. Deep familiarity with AI dev tooling (e.g., Cursor , Claude Code , Codex ) to accelerate daily workflow. Familiar with common third-party integrations, data models, and building around real-world operational systems (fulfillment, tax, auth, CRM, etc.) You’re comfortable being the technical lead in a growing org —helping transition from external dev shops to an internal, high-trust team.
