Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location Bronx, NY | Manhattan, NY Job Overview Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides compassionate occupational therapy services that help patients improve independence and quality of life while working closely with the care team to deliver personalized, high-quality care. This is a full‑time position with pay ranging from $38.00 to $40.00 per hour. A valid COTA license in the state of New York is required. Responsibilities Assess patient’s functional status and home environment, identifying equipment needs and hazards. Execute treatment program and goals, and communicate care plans to referring physicians and other professionals. Educate patients on new or retrained daily skills, fabricate splints, and instruct on adaptive equipment. Train patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices when needed. Maintain clinical records, summaries, and reports, submitting them in accordance with policy. Communicate with other personnel involved in patient care to promote coordinated service. Attend in‑services, case conferences, and other meetings to ensure comprehensive care plans. Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for additional home health services and refer appropriately. Instruct patient’s family/caregiver and other health care personnel in the treatment regimen when indicated. Participate in patient discharge planning. Graduate of an ACOTE‑accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills. Pediatric experience or willingness to work with pediatric patients.
