About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Accounting to take on a high-impact leadership role with true ownership of the accounting function. This position is pivotal in a growing organization that is preparing for significant portfolio expansion. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build, lead, and shape the accounting team and processes during this key growth phase. As the VP of Accounting, you will be responsible for leading and developing the accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, and managing accounting and compliance activities. The role also involves partnering with the CFO on cash flow, financial strategy, and scaling the finance function. Applicants for the VP of Accounting role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of accounting experience within real estate, with a strong preference for those with residential and HUD exposure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in managing and developing accounting teams, as well as experience in financial reporting for external stakeholders and investors. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a CPA or Master's degree being preferred. The role demands a strategic thinker who can create structure, improve processes, and elevate the overall finance function, and offers the opportunity to be a key player in strategic decisions and deal activity.
