Essential Functions Design, create, and facilitate experiences to engage students in their learning whilecollaborating with other faculty members, in accordance with the policies, curriculum,and philosophy of the school and treat each child with dignity and respect. Uphold and support the mission of the School and support the Six Values of ourEpiscopal Identity. Collaborate with colleagues and community members while maintaining a positive teamattitude. Developmentally Appropriate Instruction & Pedagogy: Plans, implements, and continuously refines a developmentally appropriate early childhood program grounded in best practices, including play-based learning, integrated curriculum, and research-informed approaches to early literacy and numeracy, while differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Whole-Child Development & Student Growth: Builds strong, respectful relationships with students and supports each child’s academic, social, and emotional development through intentional instruction, assessment, and responsive guidance, fostering confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. Collaboration, Communication & Professional Responsibility: Collaborates effectively with colleagues, school leadership, and families; communicates proactively and professionally with parents; participates fully in the life of the school community; and upholds the mission, values, and professional expectations of the Episcopal School. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university. Teacher certification Strength in best practices for early childhood Experience as a homeroom teacher in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten Experience in integrating curriculum Willingness to work in a collaborative, team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to differentiate curriculum for students with varying learning styles. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Generally works in standard office conditions and climate. Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts. May work at a desk and computer and stand for extended periods of time.
