Occupational Therapist School Setting in Dekalb, IL

This contracted opportunity near Dekalb, IL, offers three flexible positions working with elementary and middle school students: choose from a 30-hour week (4 days), a 37.5-hour week (5 days), or provide essential FMLA coverage with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule focused on elementary ages from late August through late October. All placements provide onsite support to ensure you can make a lasting positive impact on students' lives.


Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Experience in school settings or a strong desire to work with elementary and middle school populations
• Skilled in providing both direct interventions and consultative support for students with diverse needs
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted occupational therapy services to students, supporting academic and functional success
• Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals aligned with student needs
• Collaborate with staff and participate in multidisciplinary meetings, monthly roundtables, and process improvement initiatives
• Engage in proactive communication and real-time problem-solving through a supportive intranet platform
• Complete timely progress monitoring, documentation, and performance reviews
• Actively participate in new hire orientation (August 3 and 4, 2026) and ongoing professional development
