We're looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.What You'll DoThe successful candidate in this role will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing Viasat's policy and regulatory strategy in the United States, working with senior leaders throughout the company.The day-to-dayJob responsibilities include:Proactively shaping the U.S. policy and regulatory environment to advance company interests and objectives.Evaluating significant developments in the U.S. policy and regulatory environment to identify opportunities and risks.Formulating robust and adaptable company positions and strategies.Crafting advocacy materials to effectively communicate Viasat's positions to regulators, policymakers, and other stakeholders in formal and informal contexts.Collaborating with external counsel and consultants to maintain alignment between external advocacy and company positions.Meeting with government agencies such as the FCC and NTIA, as well as other stakeholders, to advance company interests and objectives.Advancing company positions in preparation for and on U.S. delegations to spectrum-related international conferences and meetings (e.g., ITU WRCs and Study Groups, CITEL PCC II, and related preparatory meetings), and in trade association discussions.Working with internal partners to prepare and prosecute applications for new spectrum access and operating authority.Conducting legal research and preparing related analyses for consumption by internal and external partners.Supporting litigation and other contested proceedings as the need arises.What You'll Need8+ years of experience in the field of government and regulatory affairs; preference for at least 5 years of experience specifically with FCC mattersJuris Doctorate degree or equivalent.Ability to think strategically and advocate clearly and concisely, both in writing and when speaking.Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, together with the ability to run simultaneous projects under pressure.Exceptional communication abilities; ability to ask clear questions and obtain needed answers from partners, government, and counsel.Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.Ability to operate effectively as part of a team and to consistently meet deadlines.Ability to travel up to 25%.What Will Help You On The JobExperience working in the technology industry or SATCOMSalary range$195,000.00 - $308,500.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $242,500.00- $363,500.00/ annually. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
