Asphalt Paver Screed Operator

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Paver Screed Operator based out of Duncan, SC. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Asphalt Paver Screed Operator's primary function is to adjust the screed height on the paving machine to ensure proper depth, grade and finish. The Asphalt Paver Screed Operator is also responsible for ensuring the consistency of the asphalt mat and the overall ride quality of the finished pavement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ability to correctly set up paver screed, lay a uniform thickness.
• Accurate and working knowledge of the paver screed (ex. correct speed, check on material coming out of truck, straight lines)
• Ability to take a leadership role on the crew
• Willingness and ability to keep paver and screed maintained and clean
• Willingness to work nights and weekends
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.
• Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to work day or night shifts.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Provide own transportation to and from work.
• Driving License (preferred).
• Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or walk; talk or hear, and taste or smell.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

Work Environment:

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
