Accounting Manager

Position Summary As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experiencedAccounting & Finance Managerto oversee our accounting operations and serve as a key member of our leadership team. The Accounting & Finance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company's accounting and financial operations. This hands-on role oversees the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end and year-end close activities. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will serve as the primary financial contact for the company, working closely with our outside Certified Public Accountant (CPA) on tax matters, financial reporting, year-end close, and the annual audit process. The Accounting & Finance Manager will also collaborate with and receive support from the accounting team at our sister company, USMC, leveraging shared resources and best practices while maintaining ownership of Demeter Specialty Risk's day-to-day accounting operations. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison with the company's outside CPA, coordinating financial information, tax filings, year-end close activities, and annual audits. Coordinate with the accounting team at our sister company, USMC, to ensure consistency in accounting practices, reporting, and financial operations while maintaining responsibility for Demeter Specialty Risk's accounting function. Provide leadership with accurate financial information and recommendations to support strategic business decisions. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency. Build and maintain effective relationships with banks, payroll providers, auditors, tax professionals, brokers, vendors, and other external business partners Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience managing the complete accounting cycle including; General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Bank Reconciliations Month-End and Year-End Close Budgeting and Financial Analysis Experience with accounting software. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of financial reporting.
