Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced Accountant II to join our team on-site in Irving, TX . This is a 13-week contract opportunity with potential for extension.

Position Overview

The Accountant II plays a critical role in preparing and reviewing general ledger month-end journal entries for assigned functional accounting teams in compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) . This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate the financial impact of journal entries across various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely general ledger month-end journal entries.
• Ensure all entries comply with US GAAP and company policies.
• Attach and review appropriate supporting documentation for each entry.
• Evaluate the appropriateness of journal entries, including GL accounts used and financial statement classifications.
• Analyze the financial impact of journal entries and clearly communicate results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support internal audits and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
• 2+ years of accounting experience , including general ledger and healthcare accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
