The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.


The ideal candidate will have previous accounts payable experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Successful candidates are comfortable working with accounting software, reconciling accounts, and communicating professionally with vendors and internal departments.


Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions using accounting software and company systems.
• Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Handle accounts payable activities for multiple vendors and business entities.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, pricing, quantities, and payment terms.
• Process vendor payments while taking advantage of available early payment discounts when appropriate.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely account reconciliation.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and internal team members.
• Generate reports and complete data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
• Analyze existing accounts payable workflows and recommend process improvements.
• Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies.
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar accounting role preferred.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong data entry and computer skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
