Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager – Manufacturing Operations We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations for a growing manufacturing organization in the western suburbs of Chicago. This role will supervise two employees and partner closely with the Controller, CFO, and operational leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to improve processes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage the month-end and year-end close processes Oversee general ledger accuracy and account reconciliations Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Support inventory and cost accounting activities Partner with operations on manufacturing variances and inventory controls Assist with financial reporting and audits while ensuring GAAP compliance Improve accounting processes, internal controls, ERP utilization, and reporting accuracy Mentor and develop accounting staff Support special projects assigned by the Controller or CF Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5–8 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment Previous leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end close, and sales Proficiency in Excel and experience with an ERP system Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands‑on environment Compensation and Schedule Base salary of $95,000-115,000 20% target annual company bonus Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, PTO, and a 401(k) with company ma Primarily onsite during the first 90 days, with the potential for 1–2 hybrid days per week afterward based on performance and business needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
