The Assistant Director of Human Resources serves as the operational leader of the Human Resources Department, providing leadership and oversight of daily HR functions that support a high-performing workforce across the district. This position partners closely with district and school leaders to advance employee relations, staffing, labor relations, workplace investigations, compliance, performance management, and talent development strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations and service delivery of the Human Resources Department.
• Supervise and support Human Resources staff while promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to administrators on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and personnel practices.
• Provide leadership in staffing, recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Administer and interpret labor agreements, assist with grievance management, and support labor-management collaboration.
• Develop and deliver training for administrators on employee relations, investigations, supervision, and personnel management.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, equity, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, and bring at least five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including three years in a leadership or supervisory role. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in employee relations, labor relations, workplace investigations, personnel administration, or related HR functions.

Preferred candidates will possess a master's degree in a related field, Human Resources leadership experience in a K-12 school district or public-sector organization, and experience administering collective bargaining agreements and conducting workplace investigations. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable credentials are highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

Roseville Area Schools offers competitive compensation and benefits package in accordance with the District Center Administrators Agreement. We value leaders who invest in educational excellence and community success.

Salary Range: $120,000-144,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
