Assistant Restaurant General Manager

Position Overview Seeking an Assistant Restaurant General Manager located in Newport, RI with wine sales experience. The role involves leading the restaurant team and representing a superb restaurant with an extensive wine portfolio. Responsibilities Complete daily orders of liquor, wine, beer, side bar, and glassware. Inventory and order appropriate supplies such as liquor, wine, beer, side bar paper goods, cleaning supplies, and general supplies. Train employees on the importance of People Culture, Food Culture, and Business Culture. Provide an exceptional customer experience by serving fresh and delicious food. Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the General Manager to prepare for the next position within the company. Supervise inventories of china, glassware, and silverware. Provide guidance to food and beverage department managers. Assist and support management to promote strong sales, focusing on the team. Engage in guest interaction in a sensitive and appropriate manner. Qualifications Demonstrates attention to detail. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on important restaurant business; attends to priorities. Is well organized in all aspects of job performance. Proficient with personal computers and related software applications. Systematically conducts follow up. Experience with food preparation and inventory control procedures. Must be at least 21 years of age or older (RVP approval may allow for hiring at the age permitted by local law for selling, ringing up, checking identification, and serving alcohol). Minimum 2–3 years of management experience in the retail, restaurant, grocery or other service industry with responsibility for financial results.
