# Job Opportunity – Behavioral Health Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 36-48 hours per week, every other weekend required. 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Highlights:

• Inpatient locked behavioral health unit serving adults and geriatric populations with diverse mental health diagnoses
• Comprehensive case mix including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use, and trauma-related conditions
• EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and advanced patient monitoring technology
• Multi-floor unit configuration with rotation between acuity levels and full interdisciplinary support team
• 13-week contracts or longer available; floating may be required to medical-surgical units for task-based support
• 32-hour orientation program with dedicated clinical support available 24/7

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BLS certification and MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) or CPI certification required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Comprehensive behavioral health skills including crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, managing assaultive behavior, physical hold protocols, and seclusion procedures
• Experience with psychotropic medication administration including antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and emergent chemical restraints
• Proficiency in behavioral health assessments, psychoeducation, and voluntary/involuntary commitment procedures
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
