About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director - Tax Transformation, Data and Technology.You will work as a member of the Wells Fargo Corporate Tax team, reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Tax, driving the strategy, design, and delivery of innovative tax technology and data capabilities across the function. This role offers a high-visibility opportunity to modernize the tax operating model through scalable systems, data transparency, and automation, while operating within a highly regulated financial services environment.This role will require close partnership across Corporate Tax, Finance, and Enterprise Technology to deliver sustainable, well-controlled, and compliant processes enabled by modern data and technology solutions.In this role, you will:Lead the tax transformation team with responsibility for driving and executing the tax transformation strategy across the end-to-end lifecycle in alignment with enterprise technology and finance priorities, focusing on scalability, control, and complianceEvaluate, design, implement, and continuously enhance tax data, automation, and technology solutions supporting tax provision, compliance, reporting, and analyticsOversee tax data architecture, integration, and automation initiatives, with focus on improving data quality, lineage, timeliness, and transparency across source systems and tax applicationsDevelop data analytics and reporting capabilities that provide actionable insights, support risk management, and improve visibility into tax data and outcomesDrive modernization efforts, including process automation, workflow standardization, and adoption of advanced analytics to reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve operational resilienceServe as primary liaison between Corporate Tax, Finance, and Enterprise Technology for tax-related transformation initiatives, effectively translating tax requirements into technical solutionsMonitor emerging technology trends and leading practices, including generative AI use cases for tax, to advise stakeholders and inform transformation roadmapsBuild and develop team capabilities, including supporting training, change management, and adoption of new tools and ways of working across the tax functionEvaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring solutions align with business needs and enterprise standardsEstablish and maintain governance, controls, change management, and documentation consistent with the Company’s internal control framework and regulatory expectationsRequired Qualifications:7+ years of Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education3+ years of management or leadership experienceDesired Qualifications:Experience across technology, tax transformation, finance systems, corporate taxDemonstrated experience delivering enterprise technology and data solutions in a regulated environment such as financial services, banking, or large public companiesStrong understanding of corporate tax processes and data requirements, including tax financial reporting (provision), tax return reporting, and how technology enables and controls these processesExperience integrating tax processes and applications with core finance and ERP systemsProven ability to influence stakeholders across Tax, Finance, and Technology, with strong communication and change-management skillsWorking knowledge of leading commercial tax software platforms supporting provision, compliance, and reporting (e.g., Corptax, Oracle, Longview, or equivalent platforms)Experience in leveraging data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, or similar) to support tax insights and automationConversant in generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and practical use cases for tax functions, including productivity, analytics, and knowledge management, with appropriate governance considerationsFinancial services industry experience and familiarity with U.S. GAAP and accounting for income taxesAdvanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, MST) preferredPay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
