Engineering Project Manager

Engineering Project ManagerSerán is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee and coordinate various capital projects from start to finish. Projects range from renovations to complex equipment installations to ground up construction. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the project, including developing and managing project controls, updating project stakeholders, supervising multidisciplinary design teams, and managing contractors. Successful candidates will be effective delegators, adept at identifying and prioritizing crucial aspects of the project and ensures the effective management of critical assets and skilled at problem solving with a team. Those with over five years of project management experience are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those applicants with direct pharmaceutical industry experience.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing and maintaining relationships with contractors, design firms, and consultants. Including, but not limited to reviewing proposals, awarding bids, managing contracts, and allocating resourcesSupervises each contractor and subcontractor to ensure that work is conducted at a high level of safety and qualityDuties and ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership throughout the project by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, or other involved partiesDevelops detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete projectSchedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and allocates project resources necessary to achieve each milestonePrepares and submits budget estimates and regularly communicates with stakeholders concerning project progress and costsEnsures adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, makes quick and necessary adjustmentsEnsures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in constructionOversees contract negotiations, revisions, and additions and adherence by all partiesEnsures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practicesCollaborates with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issuesManages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sitesDevelops and maintains positive professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workersResponsibilities may increase in scope to assign with company initiativesPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of cGMPs and Global Regulatory (e.g., FDA / MHRA / EMEA) guidelines and regulations acquired through education, experience, and trainingThorough experience with facility systems including but are not limited to HVAC, compressed gases, water systems (i.e. purified water, steam), electrical, and automation/controls plus monitoringExperience in facility design regarding process flow, controlled zones, fit and finish, and structural components with respect to pharmaceutical facilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations related to the construction industryAdept in developing and managing project controlsAbility to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teamsAccepts feedback from a variety of sources and constructively manage conflictsAbility to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delaysAbility to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problemsThorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawingsAbility to assess and manage potential riskDemonstrates leadership abilityAccepts feedback from a variety of sources and constructively manages conflictStrong meeting facilitation and presentation skillsProficient with MS Office Suite of tools including MS Project and relevant software tools (e.g. BlueBeam and CMMS)Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or relevant engineering degree requiredConstruction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred5+ years of project experience working in the construction industry requiredEIT, PMP, LEED AP, CFM, or PE certification preferredExperience with the pharmaceutical industry is preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretchingMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a timeMay require travelAdheres to consistent and predictable in-person attendanceExposure to characteristic construction site dangersMust be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsiteThe Corporate Headquarters of Serán BioScience are located at 63047 Layton Ave, Bend, OR 97701
