Adjunct Faculty, Economics

Overview The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seeks to establish a pool of potential undergraduate adjunct instructors on an ongoing basis to serve as dynamic and student-centered educators in the Economics discipline. Focused on experiential learning and active engagement, adjuncts will create a professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds. Adjunct faculty report to their respective department chair and/or the dean and perform instruction-related duties in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the University. Responsibilities Teach one or two courses each semester at the Romeoville, Oak Brook and/or Albuquerque campuses, including availability for weekday, evening or online instruction. Prepare course materials, syllabus and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform). Participate in required University and College activities, trainings and certifications. Provide support and guidance to students. Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program. Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in the chosen or related discipline; a Master’s degree in Economics with business experience is preferred for Economics courses. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Successful completion of the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program. Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of ten years in mid-to-senior management positions with mastery of the subject matter discipline in the classroom. Demonstrated prior quality teaching and/or training experiences. Experience with Blackboard and hybrid delivery (desired but not required). Physical Demands Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing; frequent standing, sitting, occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching; reach with hands and arms; visual identification, observation and assessment; regular physical attendance required.
