Human Resources Director

Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced, strategic Human Resources Director to lead all people operations across our multi‐restaurant McDonald’s organization. This leader will drive HR strategy, talent development, compliance, and culture initiatives that support operational excellence and an engaging employee experience. The HR Director partners closely with Owner/Operators and senior leadership to build a strong, high‐performing workforce. What You’ll Do Lead HR Strategy — Build and execute people strategies aligned with business goals, staffing needs, and organizational growth. Oversee Talent Management — Manage recruiting, onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning for all restaurant locations. Guide Employee Relations — Support managers with performance management, investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action. Ensure Compliance — Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, McDonald’s corporate standards, and internal policies. Drive Training & Development — Implement training programs that strengthen leadership capability and operational consistency. Manage Workforce Planning — Analyze staffing trends, turnover, and labor needs to support proactive hiring and scheduling. Promote Culture & Engagement — Lead initiatives that enhance retention, recognition, communication, and workplace culture. Oversee HR Systems — Maintain HRIS accuracy, personnel files, audits, and reporting. Support Multi‐Site Operations — Provide consistent HR guidance across all restaurants, ensuring alignment and operational support. Partner with Leadership — Serve as a trusted advisor to Owner/Operators and senior leaders on organizational development and people strategy. What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; 7–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in multi‐unit retail, restaurant, or hospitality Previous experience in managing a HR team Strong previous experience in Payroll, Benefits and 401k Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices Proven ability to coach all levels, manage complex employee relations, and drive organizational change Excellent communication, problem‐solving, and decision‐making skills Ability to travel across restaurant locations Key Competencies Confidentiality & professionalism Relationship building Conflict resolution Analytical decision‐making Operational awareness Process improvement Strategic leadership \nCompany Description Darmody Family McDonald’s is a 26‑restaurant network proudly serving communities across Nebraska and Iowa.
