Education, Innovation, And Support Program CoordinatorThe education, innovation, and support program coordinator will provide leadership and professional services to accomplish the education, innovation, and support departmental objectives. This position works closely with 1890 regional directors and community partners to effectively execute state-wide college readiness initiatives and support the holistic student development initiatives of SC State 1890 Research and Extension.Job Functions/Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing, executing and managing college readiness programs. Plans and oversees day-to-day program operations; evaluates outcomes, and ensures goals and objectives are metSupervise and provide direction to EIS student assistantsDesigns and implements training for professional, academic, student, and temporary staffOversees the collection, analysis, and evaluation of student and program data to document progress toward established goals and objectivesDevelops partnerships/networks with high schools, higher education institutions, and community organizationsAssist in the development of EIS budget and ensure that expenditures are processed appropriatelyAssist in the recruitment, retention, and management of the Agriculture Innovation Scholarship ProgramPlans holistic student development activities for Ag scholars, USDA scholars, student assistants, and research assistantsMakes recommendations to the state program leader based upon this analysis. Ensures accurate and up-to-date data entry for all academic programsServes on department, campus, and external committees, workgroups, and coordinating bodiesServes as consultant/expert/resource to K-14 institutions and community organizations regarding college access and college-going cultureDemonstrated knowledge managing and monitoring educational programs; knowledge of the history, philosophy and objectives of the 1890 Land-Grant System; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse populations; ability to recruit, train and manage staff as well as volunteers; expertise in understanding and following project plans, including the coordination of multiple resources and activities; Ability to exchange information with individuals and collaborate and colleagues within the college as well as presentation skills; Possess excellent organizational and decision-making skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and current social media trends.The individual should possess a Masters in education, social sciences, family and consumer sciences, sociology, psychology or related area with at least five (5) years of satisfactory professional job-related experience to include youth development areas. A master's degree is preferred.This position will directly supervise EIS student assistants.The typical work week is 8:30 am-5:00 pm in a traditional office setting. In addition, there are after hour responsibilities on the weekdays and weekends which may include facilitating workshops, conducting campus tours, and managing EIS related events. There are some outdoor responsibilities when it comes to programming and helping work university events.This position requires light physical activity and movement.Some evening and weekend work, as well as overnight in state and out of state travel is required. The individual will travel extensively throughout the state to facilitate workshops and provide support to regional staff and volunteers.The individual must have the ability to perform duties on own initiative while receiving minimal supervision; must be able to use good judgment in making decisions; exhibit a good working relationship with people, and be highly dependable in planning, implementing, and reporting activities; must be able to relate to youth and college student population and rural/urban citizens. A valid driver's license is required.Additional CommentsThis position is a fully on-site role with no remote or hybrid work options.
