Job Summary: Supervises, coordinates activities, and works with a crew of employees installing industrial piping systems. Responsibilities include planning work, determining techniques, training personnel, and ensuring safe, professional execution. Ability to travel with crew to locations in/out of state. Responsibilities: Provide on‑site supervision needed to clarify drawings and discrepancies, coordinate interfacing of trades, and maintain quality standards. Directly work with crews and advise supervisor of personnel not performing according to procedures, policies, and schedules. Assist crew with piping layout, fit‑up, and installation activities. Become familiar with project specifications and offer practical advice related to schedules and budgets. Review project progress, cost reports, schedules, and completion requirements. Recommend changes in methods, schedules, procedures, and improvements where practical. Maintain close coordination with supervisor to ensure proper responsibility for the project. Ensure proper paper flow of information from field to supervisor regarding delivery commitments, field dimensions, reports, and correspondence. Enforce all company policies/programs at all times on the project. Ensure equipment is cleaned, serviced, and stored at the end of each shift and advise supervisor of equipment requirements. Maintain quality standards, a neat and orderly job‑site, and personal appearance. Promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors/managers. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Follow blueprints and instructions including isometric drawings, P&IDs, and piping specifications. Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy equipment and materials for piping installation. Perform welding activities with minimal instructions and supervision. Set up welding equipment according to the appropriate weld process. Complete weldments to applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements. Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment. Utilize material handling equipment in conjunction with welding tasks. Perform minor maintenance on job‑related equipment. Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment. Observe and practice safety procedures and policies. Comfortable working from heights. Attendance is an essential job function. Supply/own basic pipe‑fitting and welding hand tools. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently, think, anticipate, and plan work per established schedules and procedures. OSHA and other Health and Safety certifications are desirable. High school diploma or equivalent experience. Must pass a structural weld test 3G/4G (ARC & MIG). 5 years of experience, including 2 years in a supervisory position. Experience with industrial process or utility piping systems preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Indoor office setting with controlled temperature. Outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes. Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors. Travel requirements: up to 10% of time.
