Senior Social Media Strategist

We are looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist to own the social and audience strategy behind the YouTube channel of a globally recognized beauty brand.

In this role, you will define the strategic direction for a high-growth, high-volume global YouTube channel with a Shorts-first approach. You will identify the audience behaviors that drive discovery, subscription, and purchase, translate cultural and trend signals into repeatable content direction, and shape the content calendar around key product launches, activations, and brand moments.

You will own the growth strategy behind what the channel publishes, developing clear hypotheses, reviewing performance alongside analytics specialists, and adapting the approach based on what the data shows. You will also shape the creator activation strategy, from briefing and selection criteria to performance evaluation and progression across creator tiers, while identifying how organic content can connect effectively with commerce and paid amplification.

Working closely with creative, analytics, community, and account teams, you will ensure that social strategy translates into clear, actionable direction across the wider project. You will also present and defend strategic recommendations to senior client stakeholders across media and marketing.

A strong understanding of YouTube , internet culture, creators, and emerging subcultures is essential, together with a proven track record of growing social channels rather than focusing primarily on campaign-led activations. Experience working with large brands in beauty or closely related consumer categories is strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Proven track record of growing social media channels or accounts, with the ability to demonstrate measurable growth and clearly explain the strategies and decisions that drove it.
• Strong agency-side experience in social media strategy for large brands, with experience in beauty or a closely adjacent consumer category strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of YouTube formats, audience behavior, discovery, and creator culture, alongside strong knowledge of other major social platforms.
• Demonstrable ability to assess content strategically and structurally, identifying why specific content performs and translating those insights into repeatable approaches.
• Strong understanding of internet culture, emerging trends, online communities, creators, and subcultures.
• Experience developing content and audience strategies for high-volume publishing environments is highly desirable.
• Experience designing and running creator or influencer activations, ideally across multiple markets, is an advantage.
• Strong analytical fluency, with the ability to interpret performance data, challenge assumptions, identify inconsistencies, and develop testable hypotheses.
• Ability to adapt strategic direction based on performance data and confidently scale, refine, or discontinue approaches based on evidence.
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, with the confidence to present and defend strategic recommendations to senior client audiences.
• Understanding of social commerce or affiliate mechanics is a plus.
• Familiarity with paid social planning and the relationship between organic performance and paid amplification is a plus, but not essential.
• Native-level or professional working proficiency in English .
