Commercial Roofing Project Manager (New Construction) - NYC Location: New York City Sector: Commercial Roofing - New Construction Position Type: Full-Time About the Company A leading commercial contractor is expanding its ground-up roofing division in New York City . With a strong reputation across the broader construction market, the firm is now investing heavily in building out a dedicated roofing team focused on new construction, large-scale developments, and complex building envelope systems . This is a key hire as part of a strategic growth plan, offering strong long-term progression and the chance to help shape a developing business unit. The Role The Project Manager will oversee commercial roofing projects across NYC , managing full project lifecycles from pre-construction through closeout. This role is heavily focused on new construction coordination , working alongside GCs, developers, façade contractors, and union labor. Given the NYC market, this role requires strong experience navigating: Tight urban sites Union labor environments DOB compliance and scheduling constraints Coordination with envelope trades (façade, waterproofing, glazing) Key Responsibilities Manage multiple ground-up commercial roofing projects across NYC Oversee project budgets, schedules, and P&L responsibility Coordinate with general contractors, developers, and consultants Lead procurement of materials (TPO, PVC, EPDM, SBS/modified systems) Manage subcontractors and union crews Ensure compliance with NYC DOB regulations and safety standards Drive project scheduling in line with broader construction timelines Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation Requirements 5-10+ years of commercial roofing experience , with a focus on new construction (not just re-roofing/service) Strong knowledge of: TPO / PVC / EPDM systems Built-up & modified bitumen (SBS) Insulation assemblies and vapor barriers Proven experience working in NYC construction environments Experience working alongside GCs on ground-up projects Understanding of union labor and site logistics in NYC Strong commercial acumen (cost control, change orders, budgeting) Preferred Experience coordinating with façade/building envelope trades Exposure to large-scale mixed-use, high-rise, or institutional projects Background working for a commercial roofing contractor (not manufacturer or consultant) Why Join?
