POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, maintaining the accuracy of general ledger accounts, preparing reconciliations, managing fixed assets, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, supporting tax compliance activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP. The position partners with operations, sales, and management teams to provide accurate financial reporting and analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and reclassifications
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash account analysis
• Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities and meet established closing deadlines
• Prepare financial analyses and variance reporting for operating expenses, travel expenses, and marketing expenditures
• Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and support other state and local tax compliance requirements
• Perform intercompany account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support external audits, internal audits, and statutory reporting requirements
• Prepare schedules and documentation for financial statement reviews and audits
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives within ERP systems
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
• Some understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, SunSystems, or similar platforms
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Fixed asset accounting and depreciation management
• Bank reconciliations
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Multi-entity or multinational accounting environment
