The Postdoctoral Associate will contribute to ongoing and new projects spanning population health and seriously ill populations. Examples include the New Jersey Health Study, which examines life-course factors shaping health outcomes among a statewide sample, and an NIH R01-funded study, which examines social pressures among patients with advanced cancers (see links below for more information). These studies feature various multimodal data collection approaches, including data from surveys, biosamples, cognitive testing, qualitative interviews, and/or electronic health records. The Postdoctoral Associate will have opportunities to develop independent research questions and pursue grant funding aligned with their scholarly interests. Routine activities will include protocol development, data analysis, manuscript writing, grant writing, and research presentations. The Postdoctoral Associate will receive mentorship in research development, manuscript and grant writing, and career development; have opportunities for authorship and to develop independent research questions; and participate in seminars at the Institute for Health and other units across Rutgers University. The position will work under the direct mentorship of Login George, PhD, Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health, Healthcare Policy, and Aging Research and the School of Nursing. The Postdoctoral Associate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other senior researchers such as Paul Duberstein, Joel Cantor, and Benjamin Chapman, and be part of interdisciplinary teams working at other academic units within Rutgers, including the School of Public Health, Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and the Medical School.
