We are also the largest health care safety-net provider, largest school-based health care provider and the largest mental health provider in the San Diego region.Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for a Health Information Management Specialist II – The HIM Specialists II performs day-to-day tasks of the Health Information Management department, creating optimal customer service for the department, patients, and clinic sites alike. Under the supervision of the HIM Correspondence/Chart Prep Supervisor, performs a broad range of chart preparation, record requesting and quality assurance activities. Tasks include preparing charts for upcoming clinical visits, communicating requests with internal and external partners, record releasing and requesting, receiving/uploading records and identifying and resolving associated incomplete orders, data entry, and ensuring added records meet documented standards and regulations.Responsibilities:Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits; reviewing for open orders, incomplete documentation, follow up for ER/ED visits, open referrals, and addition of pending results.Coordinates the release of medical information, following all department and regulatory guidelines. Verifies authorizations, records incoming requests, processes requests, and communicates with requestor.Provides customer service for department, including answering phone calls, greeting visitors, taking messages, and routing faxes.Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness.
