As a School Nurse, you'll play an essential role in ensuring students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn by partnering with educators, families, and healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency medical response for students and staff. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies. Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and other student health documentation. Monitor students with chronic and acute medical conditions and communicate with families and healthcare providers as needed. Conduct health assessments, screenings, and maintain accurate student health records. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education teams, and parents to promote student health and academic success. Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings when appropriate. Promote health education, wellness initiatives, and disease prevention throughout the school community. Qualifications Active Minnesota Registered Nurse license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Previous pediatric, school nursing, public health, or community health experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with students, families, and school staff.
