The Private Events Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operational execution of The Park Club's private events business.

This position oversees the people, processes, standards and operational planning required to successfully execute weddings, corporate functions, member celebrations, social events, dinners, receptions and large-scale Club events.

Working in partnership with the Private Events Director, Service Director, Executive Chef and Club leadership, this role ensures that every event moves seamlessly from the planning phase into execution.

The Private Events Operations Manager is expected to be a strong manager first: organized, decisive, highly accountable and capable of leading teams through complex events with confidence.

The position reports to the Service Director and works closely with the Private Events Director .

Our Club brings together business, hospitality, dining, culture and community in an environment built around exceptional service and meaningful experiences.

Our private events business includes intimate dinners, executive meetings, corporate functions, weddings, receptions, celebrations, galas and large-scale special events.

We are looking for an experienced hospitality leader to take operational ownership of this important part of our business.

The Opportunity

The Park Club is seeking a Private Events Operations Manager to lead the people, planning and operational execution behind our private events.

This is a management position for someone who possesses an exceptional work ethic, extremely strong attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership.

The successful candidate will know how to build a team, organize an operation, manage labor, anticipate challenges and execute complicated events with confidence.

You should be the type of leader who notices details before a guest or client ever has the opportunity to notice them.

You delegate.

You follow through.

And when something does not meet the standard, you take responsibility for correcting it.

What You'll Lead

The Private Events Operations Manager will oversee the operational execution of private events from finalized planning through event completion.

You will lead banquet captains, servers, bartenders and event support personnel while working closely with our Private Events Director, Service Director, Executive Chef and Club leadership.

Your responsibility is to take the event plan and turn it into an organized, polished and successful operation.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrivate Event Operations

• Lead the operational execution of weddings, corporate functions, member events, private dinners, receptions and special events
• Review BEOs, timelines, floorplans and event requirements in advance
• Translate event details into clear operational plans
• Identify logistical challenges before event day
• Oversee event setups, service execution, transitions and breakdown
• Manage multiple events and changing priorities when required
• Maintain appropriate operational oversight throughout significant events

Team Leadership

• Lead banquet captains, servers, bartenders and event staff
• Establish clear standards and expectations
• Conduct effective pre-event meetings
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately
• Hold team members accountable for performance
• Coach employees and provide real-time feedback
• Identify and develop future captains and supervisors
• Build a disciplined and dependable private events team

Staffing & Labor Management

• Develop event staffing plans based on guest count, service style and complexity
• Prepare employee schedules and assignments
• Monitor overtime and labor productivity
• Adjust staffing based on changing event requirements
• Partner with leadership to manage labor while maintaining service standards
• Review staffing performance following significant events

BEO Planning & Coordination

• Participate actively in weekly BEO meetings
• Review guest counts, menus, timelines, floorplans, beverage service, AV, rentals, vendors, valet and special requests
• Coordinate with Culinary, Service and Private Events leadership
• Communicate concerns before they impact execution
• Ensure operational teams clearly understand the expectations of each event

Event Leadership

• Serve as the senior operational leader during major private events
• Maintain command of the overall operation rather than becoming focused on one individual task
• Monitor service timing, staffing, guest flow and culinary coordination
• Make decisions quickly when circumstances change
• Resolve operational problems discreetly
• Protect both the client experience and Club standards

Standards & Quality Control

Maintain consistently high presentation standards throughout the Club.

Ensure event spaces meet expectations for:

• Table settings
• Linens
• China
• Glassware
• Silverware
• Bars
• Lighting
• Temperature
• Signage
• Service stations
• Guest arrival areas
• Back-of-house staging
• Event cleanliness and presentation

Develop operating procedures and checklists that allow these standards to be repeated consistently.

Training & Development

Develop and maintain training standards for the private events team, including:

• Plated service
• Cocktail receptions
• Formal dining
• Tray service
• Wine service
• VIP recognition
• Event timing
• Room resets
• Guest recovery
• Event closing procedures

Our goal is to build an event team capable of consistently executing The Park Club standard.

Financial & Operational Accountability

• Manage event labor responsibly
• Reduce unnecessary overtime
• Monitor operational efficiency
• Protect Club equipment and inventory
• Manage rentals and event supplies
• Monitor breakage and loss
• Participate in event post-mortems
• Identify ways to improve future event execution and profitability

Qualifications

• 4+ years of banquet, private events, luxury hotel, resort, private club or high-end hospitality experience preferred
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience
• Experience directly leading banquet or event teams
• Experience with weddings, corporate events, receptions and plated dinners
• Strong understanding of BEOs and event operations
• Experience with labor management and employee scheduling
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
• Luxury hospitality or private club experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Tripleseat, Northstar or comparable hospitality systems is beneficial

Schedule

This is a hospitality leadership position and requires flexibility based on the Club's private event calendar.

Evening, weekend and occasional holiday availability will be required.

The Private Events Operations Manager is expected to be present for significant and operationally complex events.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $75,000–$85,000

Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, leadership background and demonstrated operational capability.
