Export Control Manager (Washington DC/ Farmington Hills, MI)

Job Description As an Export Control Manager, you provide authoritative guidance on national and international regulations such as ITAR and EAR, ensuring Bosch’s compliance. You further develop global standards and guidelines in U.S. (re‑)export controls law in collaboration with international colleagues. Job Responsibilities Manage global risk management, derive globally applicable governance requirements, and develop common minimum standards in the Export Controls fields of 3rd party Due Diligence, Customer Classification, Contract Clauses, NDA, and EUC Processes for Export Control & Sanctions, M&A/Divestment Export Control. Monitor legal developments (Executive Orders, EAR, OFAC, ITAR) and changes to U.S. export control laws and regulations; assess their impact on Bosch Group and subsidiary activities worldwide; support the definition of appropriate measures and set related process requirements. Support the conceptual design and development of the re‑export control law process landscape for the Bosch Group, focusing on U.S. laws and regulations; develop reporting systems and use results to implement further requirements. Conduct export audits/health checks for re‑export compliance and monitor data analysis for risk indicators in export controls. Act as a contact person for business units, central departments, and authorities. Qualifications 8+ years of Export Controls experience and JD, with expertise in U.S. export control laws (EAR, OFAC, ITAR, and FTR). 1+ years of proven ability to influence and motivate people. In‑depth knowledge of U.S. sanctions and export control laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Internal audit skills. Continuous learner; eager to stay abreast of developments and conduct research. Effective coordination and collaboration across groups. Preferred Qualifications Ability to act independently, make decisions in adherence to compliance, regulations, and policies. Skill in identifying issues, resolving inquiries, and developing solutions swiftly and independently. Knowledge of sanctions and export control laws in the EU & UN. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Experience in the automotive industry and understanding of export compliance related to software and technology. Candidates must pass both screenings before their start date. The U.S. base salary range for this full‑time position is $130,000 – $160,000. Individual pay is determined by factors such as work experience, job knowledge, role complexity, and location. This range does not include annual bonus or other monetary compensation.
