Cost Engineer

About the Role Schreiber Excavating in Ontario, NY is hiring a full‑time Sitework Estimator for a 45‑hour per week schedule. The position is salaried at $60,000–$65,000 based on experience, with performance‑based bonuses. What Are the Hours? This is a full‑time position with an expected workload of approximately 45 hours per week. Benefits Customizable health insurance options SARSEP retirement plan Paid sick and vacation time Use of company equipment after hours Access to company vehicle when necessary Responsibilities In this role, you will review plans and specifications, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, develop accurate cost estimates, prepare and submit RFIs, assemble bid packages, proactively identify scope gaps and risks, coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure complete scope coverage, maintain organized estimating files and systems, create bid reports and handoff documentation, assist with change order pricing, and support field teams as projects move forward. Qualifications Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR Experience in construction, sitework, or field operations; OR Experience in estimating or preconstruction.
