Logistics Coordinator - Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

The Logistics Coordinator supports mobile battery energy storage systems and other distributed energy assets by overseeing onsite coordination, equipment movement, and operational record keeping. In this role, you coordinate the transportation, delivery, retrieval, and staging of equipment for customer deployments while maintaining accurate documentation and providing hands-on support in office, warehouse, and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the transportation, delivery, retrieval, and staging of mobile battery energy storage systems and related distributed energy assets for customer deployments.
• Manage logistics for equipment transportation, including deliveries, rentals, fleet movements, construction logistics, field service operations, and other physical operations as needed.
• Oversee shipping and receiving activities, ensuring equipment and materials are accurately received, documented, and routed to the correct locations.
• Track equipment inventory and movement, maintaining up-to-date records of assets, locations, and status in spreadsheets and operational systems.
• Review and manage invoices, fuel deliveries, rental charges, and other operational data to support accurate record keeping and cost tracking.
• Provide onsite operational support by assisting with warehouse tasks, material handling, and working around industrial equipment and loading areas.
• Perform local errands and travel to support equipment, vendor, site, registration, and documentation needs.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with transportation providers, rental companies, service vendors, and internal teams to coordinate schedules and resolve issues.
• Independently manage multiple vendors, schedules, deadlines, records, and open action items, ensuring follow-through and completion of tasks.
• Use spreadsheet tools and other systems such as ERP, Salesforce, or CMMS to maintain operational records and support data management.
• Support field operations at active customer sites, ensuring equipment is properly staged, tracked, and documented.
• Adhere to safety practices while working around industrial equipment, warehouses, loading docks, and other operational environments.
• Lift, move, and position equipment or materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds as part of daily operational activities.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, including equipment transportation, deliveries, rentals, fleet management, construction logistics, field service, or similar physical operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors, schedules, deadlines, records, and action items simultaneously without losing details.
• Ability to provide onsite operational support, including receiving freight, assisting with warehouse and material-handling activities, and working around industrial equipment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with transportation providers, rental companies, service vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Competence with spreadsheets and record management, including reviewing invoices, fuel deliveries, rental charges, equipment records, and other operational data.
• Basic familiarity with business systems such as Salesforce, ERP systems, or CMMS for tracking and managing operational information.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems, generators, electrical equipment, or industrial power systems, or the ability to quickly learn these technologies.
• Previous experience in logistics, construction operations, equipment rentals, fleet coordination, field service, transportation, warehouse operations, or a comparable physical-operations environment.
• Ability to balance administrative tasks with hands-on onsite work in warehouse and field settings.
• Valid drivers license and ability to drive locally for work-related travel.
• Ability to lift and move equipment or materials weighing approximately 50 pounds.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification if not currently certified.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort working with industrial equipment such as forklifts and material-handling tools in warehouse and loading environments.
• Experience using spreadsheets for operational tracking and reporting, including Excel or similar tools.
• Familiarity with inventory management and equipment tracking processes in logistics or warehouse settings.
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including documentation and coordination with carriers.
• Experience working at active customer sites, with an understanding of field operations and onsite coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through across concurrent priorities in a fast-paced physical-operations environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational needs while maintaining accurate records.
• Commitment to safety practices in environments involving industrial equipment, loading areas, and warehouses.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role based at a Long Beach facility, combining office work with warehouse, shipping and receiving, vendor coordination, and hands-on operational activities. You work in and around industrial equipment, loading areas, warehouses, and active customer sites, following safety practices appropriate for these environments. The position involves local travel for equipment handling, vendor visits, site support, registration, and documentation activities. You can expect a practical, operations-focused setting where you move between desk-based record management and physical tasks such as freight receiving, material handling, and equipment staging.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Torrance, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
