POSITION TITLE: Estimator

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and production processes based on specifications.
• Utilize historical data and collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine estimates.
• Support the engineering team by gathering and analyzing relevant data from drawings and specifications.
• Work with project managers, engineers, and customer service teams to ensure project costs are accurate and within budget.
• Maintain and update a cost database for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Assist in preparing proposals, tracking project budgets, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
• Provide insights on cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation in estimating processes.
• Perform other duties as required by the VP of Engineering.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Basic math skills and a passion for numbers.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost estimation preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with SyteLine is a plus).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Minimum (2) years in manufacturing.

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field is preferred . Candidates with relevant experience in estimating or manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

• Work Environment: Office and manufacturing settings.
• Physical Demands: Sitting, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Position Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.
• Travel: Minimal local travel may be required.
