Senior Accountant

A well-established national distribution company is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. What You'll Do: Review general ledger activity and prepare month-end closing entries, with a focus on inventory and gross margin accounts Analyze complex financial data using PowerBI and Alteryx to reconcile subledger and general ledger data sets Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations Research and resolve account discrepancies Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations to support the close process Help lead best practice initiatives to standardize and scale accounting processes Perform variance analyses and investigate material trends Support interim and annual audits, including preparing schedules and coordinating with other departments Prepare financial statement footnotes for bank reporting Assist with documenting accounting processes and internal controls Coordinate accounting projects across teams and departments Participate in system implementations and ad hoc projects What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally a mix of public and private Strong working knowledge of GAAP Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with high data volumes Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
