Accounts Payable Director

ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable departmentManage, mentor, and develop an AP team, including managers, supervisors, and specialistsOversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely vendor paymentsDevelop and implement AP policies, procedures, and internal controlsDrive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiencyPartner with Accounting, Procurement, Treasury, and Finance to support month-end and year-end close activitiesReview and approve high-value payments, wire transfers, ACH payments, and check runsMonitor AP aging, payment schedules, and cash flow requirementsEnsure compliance with company policies, GAAP, sales tax, and 1099 reporting requirementsManage vendor relationships and resolve complex payment discrepancies and escalated issuesLead ERP implementations, system upgrades, and AP automation projects when applicablePrepare and present AP metrics, KPIs, and reporting to executive leadershipSupport internal and external audits and ensure compliance with SOX controls when applicableIdentify opportunities to reduce costs, improve workflows, and enhance the vendor experienceDetermining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
